This Week’s Featured Cocktail: The Bloody Mary

Forrest Miller – Muze Staff Writer

The holidays are over, New Years celebrations have come and gone, and the ball in Times Square has been dropped.   All that remains is the hangover and groggy post-holiday ennui.  However, 2013 lies before us, waiting for us to make the most of it, if only we could stumble out of bed to seize the day.  The best cure for a hangover is, of course, the Bloody Mary.  It’s a great way to invigorate body and jump-start your system for the new opportunities that 2013 brings with it.

The Bloody Mary

  • 3 oz. tomato juice
  • 1 ½ oz. vodka
  • ½ oz. lemon juice
  • A dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • Celery salt
  • Ground pepper
  • Hot pepper sauce to taste
  • Celery stock
  • Lemon and/or lime wedge for garnish

Build the liquid ingredients in a highball glass over ice.  Mix well.  Add seasonings to taste.  Garnish with the celery stock and lemon and/or lime wedge.
