This Summer we had the opportunity do a shoot with model and entrepreneur Rachel Fashing. Not only is Rachel gorgeous (we definitely want to get her in front of the camera again) but she has plans to build her own swimwear company. This seemed like a great chance for some sun, a shoot and to find out more about Rachel’s plans. Expect to see more of Rachel here in Muze in the future.
So here we are down at the Lake chillin on a great Summer day. Seems like a perfect time to chat about swimwear. Tell us about your new endeavor. How did you get the idea to start your own Swimwear line?
I have always wanted to be a business owner or some sort, and I thought like everyone else why don’t I take my passion (for fashion & fit bodies) and put it into something I love…sexy swimwear. I have done pageants, some minor modeling and the one thing I cannot live without buying for these is swimwear.
Has your experience doing pageants and shoots influenced what you think about swimwear and what women look for?
Yes, definitely. It has helped me hear what women love, hate, want, need for their bodies. So by being a great eavesdropper ;) I have combined my thoughts of what swimwear should look like and put it into what women want.
Is your line going to accentuate women’s sexiness? I mean is sex appeal going to be a part of your brand and promotion?
There is nothing sexier than a beautiful piece of lace or pearls on a woman, why would we not incorporate this into an everyday piece of clothing? There’s no need to hide these romantic and elegant pieces in the bedroom.
Do you have lots of hot friends that will help you with the initial photo shoots you will need to do?
Haha – I have lots of hot friends, but I prefer to keep them out of the advertising aspect. I don’t want this to be a Midwest line where everyone knows who’s modeling my line. Then it might not leave the circle of hot girls. But I will be giving some friend discounts so they can wear them boating, beaching, and vacationing to help spread the word.
Any desire to model your line yourself? You are obviously gorgeous and would look amazing in anything.
Nahhh, I want to be known for my brains and savvy business skills this time…not my killer bod! Haha jk!!
