It has been 12 years since Jim Carrey has been in a good movie, and there is no good reason to think he’ll even be in another one; but Director, Jeff Wadlow (NEVER BACK DOWN), tweeted that Carey will join the cast of KICK-ASS 2: BALLS TO THE WALL and he’s excited about it. Of course, after NEVER BACK DOWN, Wadlow is just excited to have work.

Carey will play ’The Colonel’, a superhero who joins Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl in their fight against crime. Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Nicolas Cage and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are all back for the sequel, but the original’s director, Matthew Vaughn, is too busy with pre-production on X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, and will only produce KICK-ASS 2.

John Leguizamo, Morris Chestnut, Yancy Butler and Derren Brown’s mentalism consultant, Andy Nyman, help round out the cast.
